N ... Noah

N is for Noah

Noah is my oldest nephew. He was born in 2005. He was the first nephew, the first granchild etc.
Now he is four and all grown up.
I like to think he still relys on his aunty for some things.
Even though he is all tough and big, I can still find that ticklish spot and I can ALWAYS make him laugh when he is "trying" to be mad!
My favourite thing at the moment is when he gets angry he goes to his room and says "I just need to think about somefing and its too noisy out there"

My little boy has turned into a little man. Before I know it I'll just be the annoying aunty who buys him embrassing things, has no fashion sense, and is completely out of date when it comes to gadgets and the like. I am sure he will soon know how to use a computer better then I do. He already uses one at kindy!

Love you little man!

L ... Leg

L is for leg.

On the 4th of December 2009 my husband, Jason, broke his leg in a wakeboarding accident. He had to have an operation to put a metal plate in his leg which runs from his knee to his ankle with about 10 screws in it or something.
He has been hobbling around on crutches for awhile but got rid of them on Jan 27th.
He is now walking with a bit of a limp but the doctors are amazed at how well he is recovering and are very happy with his progress. He did however get a removable cast on 24th of Dec which was a blessing in disguise. This meant that he could go swimming and have showers a lot easier etc.
God works in wonderful ways!
We have struggled a bit during this time as Jason works for himself and income was kind of low. As well as being over Christmas it made for interesting traveling etc. But we had a lot of support from family and friends and also learnt to strongly rely on God and His promises and we have come out on the better side.
Below is a picture of his break. The big bone has a spiral fracture and the smaller bone was shattered and then shoved together.
(I will try to post updates of his new xrays with the metal plate etc)

Hard Day ..

Today has been abit of a hard day.

Firstly I tried to sleep in but can't because the sun is up at like 530.

Secondly I went to the gym and worked my butt off for an hour (well actually my butt is still there, if only it took an hour to get rid of, man I would be in the money!)

Thirdly I have to file a whole lot of stuff for Jasons work.

Fourth I just remembered I have Bible study tonight and I havent done prep study yet. (something I probably should have considered before coming on the computer)

Fifth I have had to look into our health insurance to see if it covers everything we need it too. (dealing with people like that can make anyone have a bad day)

Sixth I received an email from my sister telling me that it is official! They are leaving on DV the 17th March. An email which made me realise how much I am going to miss them! One that also made me think that going to combat is going to be very lonely for awhile. But also an email that made me realise this is something that they have wanted to do for a long while and that God has granted them a great blessing in this sense. I really wish them all the best in their preparations to leave and I know that they will be back. But that still doesn't make it any eaiser to say goodbye.

And its only 3:00.

I guess we all have hard days.

"To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven;
A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
A time to cast stones away,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refarin from embracing;
A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time fo war,
And a time of peace."

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Remember when ....

Remember when ...

Twinpoles were readily avialable at your local supermarket?

Chocolate gave you energy and not kilos?

You would quite happily walk across the park and up the street to the deli without a second thought?

A three megapixel camera was labelled "INGENIOUS"
It cost 50cents to go to school on the train?

There was a cents sign on the keyboard??? (I don't know if there ever was but there should have been)

You pretty much had to squint to see the writing on the computer screen?
While you were on the internet if the phone would ring it would disconnect?

Two familys of 5 would fit in a station wagon?

Life goes by so quickly and it seems things just keep getter bigger and better and materialism is huge! People are never truly happy with what they have, its not big enough, not fast enough, not cool enough, not new enough, not up to MY STANDARDS!

Well lets always remember that ...

One day everything that we have will be gone. None of our wordly possessions will come with us. Lets be happy with what we have and remember those who don't have the things we do.  Above all have faith that God gives what we need!

I ... Ice blocks

I .. is for iceblocks.

I must admit that "I" was kinda a hard one.
Doing this photo challenge actually makes me think about stuff, usually in my own house, that start with different letters.
Anyways I decided to have a bit of a play with some ice and food colouring to make it abit more interesting.
Enjoy.
